Hey guys! My teen just hit 15½ and we are officially starting the permit process. I am looking for a reliable California Driver’s Ed course that is fully online and actually accepted by the DMV. Ideally it should be self-paced so they can chip away at it between school and sports. Has anyone found a program recently that was not a total glitchy mess? Would love to hear what worked for your family!

We actually just went through this and my son used Next Door Driving which was a total lifesaver. It is 100% DMV-authorized so it covers the full 30-hour requirement you need before hitting the DMV for the written test. What we liked best was that it is completely online and he could just jump on his phone whenever he had a free hour. It is super straightforward and takes the stress out of the paperwork. If you want to see the full curriculum or how the certificate process works you can find more about California online here. It is definitely a solid hassle-free option for busy parents. Good luck with the permit stage!
